Our Story
Brothers Dale and Tim Wood founded Mapleton Oil Co., Inc.
In November 2001 with one fuel-delivery truck. For its first decade, the company focused on delivering heating oil, kerosene, diesel fuel, and propane to homes and businesses across Central Aroostook County.
In 2013, the brothers expanded into retail fuel with their first self-serve station in Fort Fairfield. Open 24 hours a day, it allowed customers to pay with cash right at the pump. They followed the same model as they added stations in Mapleton in 2014, Ashland in 2015, and Presque Isle in 2016.
In 2025, Dale and Tim sold Mapleton Oil Co. while retaining their gas stations, which they now operate as Mapleton Gas Co. A new station opened in Blaine in September 2026, bringing the total to five locations.
Born and raised in Aroostook County, Dale and Tim still live and do business here. Mapleton Gas reflects that local commitment: five self-serve fuel stops, open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, with hopes of serving more County communities in the future.
